Cottage House Extension Killearn

This house extension in Killearn involved the full refurbishment of a 1930’s former council owned cottage in the village .

The original 2 bedroom cottage had a tiny kitchen and was in poor condition.  A new corridor links the stair and front door to a new rear extension removing the need to walk through the sitting room. The new extension contains an open plan kitchen and dining room overlooking the garden.  Upstairs an ensuite bathroom has been carried out of some old cupboard space.

Externally the extension is designed to be sympathetic to the original cottage yet have a contemporary style.  Traditional white rendered walls are trimmed in grey around the large patio doors, whilst a copper roof and frieze contrast with the new natural slate on the original house.
